Story from #sashcancerhero: Rebecca: Tira

My Tira Tatty was diagnosed with a sarcoma in her neck/jaw area. I suddenly found the lump and had it checked by my local vet. After the confirmation that it was cancer we were refered to Tuggerah SASH’s Oncology then eventually onto the wonderful Dr Elias at SASH North Ryde.

She was meant to have palliative radiation for 6 weeks but sadly after the 3rd dose her quality of life was deteriorating too much, so it was stopped.

Tira was able to survive for 2 months after her diagnosis but sadly her weightloss was too much and the cancer was too much and I had to say goodbye to my best friend of 11 & 1/2 years. Throughout her cancer journey Dr Elias and Dr Tristam’s help and advice made the process easier with their genuine care and concern for her as a whole cat not just the cancer.
