Dr Lisa Chimes graduated from Sydney University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with first class honours and moved to Melbourne to complete her internship in veterinary emergency and critical care. Lisa started working at SASH/VetICU as an emergency and critical care veterinarian in 2008 soon after the hospital opened. In 2010 she became a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in the Small Animal Medicine chapter.
Lisa also runs SASH’s canine blood bank to help provide life-saving blood transfusions for our patients.
Lisa has two Cavalier cross Poodles, Nelson and Lucas. Nelson has been by Lisa’s side since she was a vet student – he is loyal, loves chasing the ball and is bizarrely afraid of barbecues. Lucas is highly affectionate, playful and a little neurotic. Both of her fur-kids are definitely ‘mummy’s boys’!
