Specialist in Ophthalmology
Dr Negar Hamzianpour was originally from the UK and graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011. She worked for several years as a general practitioner before completing her rigorous specialist training in the UK. This included two internships (Royal Veterinary College and Willows Veterinary Centre & Referral Service) and a subsequent European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ECVO) residency at one of the world’s most highly respected ophthalmology centres for specialist ophthalmic training (Eye Veterinary Clinic, Herefordshire).
Dr Negar stands strongly for ethically appropriate and scientifically backed veterinary medicine and as such has been successful in the acceptance of multiple scientific publications*. She is most passionate about the human-animal bond, extremely empathetic and considerate to her patients and wants to improve everyday with guidance from her clients about their experiences.
Dr Negar is passionate about all areas of ophthalmology, she is particularly interested in cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, and eyelid surgery.
Although Negar was fortunate enough to work alongside and learn from many Ophthalmologists all over the world (Europe, USA and Australia), she finally decided to settle in Australia in 2021. Here, she built her very loved human and fur family. She is the proud fur mum of a dog named Hammer, and a pair of rescue cats named Rooz and Shab, both of whom received vision saving surgery from Negar.
