Dr Sunishka or Suni (as she is known by) graduated from the University of Sydney in 2008 and holds Membership qualifications with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Emergency and Critical Care. She began her career in a busy coastal general practice before discovering her passion for emergency medicine and transitioning to specialist hospitals in Sydney and the Central Coast.
With over a decade of experience in emergency and critical care, Dr Suni has a particular interest in acute shock management, transfusion medicine, and all things feline. As ECC Clinical Lead, she is dedicated to mentoring and supporting emergency veterinarians, helping them build their confidence, clinical skills, and passion for the profession. She is also actively involved in the wider veterinary community as a Membership Examiner for the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Emergency and Critical Care.
At home, Dr Suni is kept busy by her two children and four pets: Sebastian, a mischievous Sphynx well known to SASH; Maurice, a 17-year-old Ragdoll cross; Augie, a sweet Chihuahua-Terrier mix; and Squid, a cheeky Toy Poodle. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at art galleries and the ballet, and cherishes time with friends and family. A self-described general hobbyist, she’s always open to discovering new interests.
