Specialist in Oncology
Dr Spela graduated from the Veterinary Faculty at the University of Ljublijana, Slovenia in 2010. She then completed two oncology externships in the USA before an internship in a Dutch private practice. In 2017, Spela became a Diplomate (specialist) in Oncology, after completing her oncology residency at Edinburgh University. Spela remained at the university to become the head of the Oncology department and a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Oncology. Between 2017 and 2021, Spela authored 10 research publications in the field of oncology. In 2021, Spela relocated to Sydney to join the SASH Cancer Centre.
In her spare time, Spela is passionate about running and scuba diving but her favourite hobby is finding four leaf clovers. She has a beautiful Dutch warmblood Lars and a naughty tortie Packa who live under the Alps with her parents.
