Dr Keaton Schmidt graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada in 2019. From there he went on to a rotating internship at the University of Illinois in the USA, followed by a residency in Anaesthesia and Pain Management at the University of Florida which he finished in 2023 to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia & Analgesia
His interests within the field include critical patient anaesthesia, cardiac procedures, locoregional anaesthesia, and interventional pain management. During his training he also got to work with a wide variety of exotic, zoo, and wildlife patients, and he maintains a strong love for these unique animals. Outside of work he is keen on all the classic outdoor activities, enjoying hiking, biking, swimming, and camping, and is excited to explore Australia.
