Lead Emergency Veterinarian
Dr Alexandra Swan graduated from Charles Sturt University with Honours. Her passion for emergency medicine and surgery saw her start her career as an emergency veterinarian and then later progressing to veterinary director of the emergency department. The desire to further her knowledge in a specialist environment led her to the SASH team as the clinical lead for the emergency team. She thrives on sharing her knowledge and training veterinarians in the emergency field.
Dr Alex enjoys the challenge and fast pace of emergency medicine. She has a keen interest in the management of complex snake envenomation cases and toxicities. Dr Alex also enjoys treating exotic pets and wildlife (particularly reptiles). Alex enjoys scuba diving, underwater photography, horse riding and Go-Karting. She has plenty to keep her busy at home tending to her poodles, cats, snakes and saltwater reef tank.
