One evening at dinner we noticed Doug our Border Collie panting more than usual. My daughter patting him then discovered a dreaded tick! We raced to SASH Emergency at Tuggerah and he started to go downhill really quickly.
The SASH team took him in and began treatment with the advice that recovery was uncertain. It was a sleepless night for me – I called through the night to check on him.
In the morning it was good news – he still needed care but could go to our usual vet. He recovered and is still a much loved member – my human children would say favourite child – in our family.
I was a few days late with his tick preventative treatment and without SASH this oversight would have had fatal consequences.
I’m forever grateful for the care, professionalism and empathy of the SASH team.
