Emergency & Hospital Care Vets

Join the SASH family - led by vets, loved by vets

Whether you are looking for a full time, part time, or a casual role in emergency medicine, SASH is the leader and employer of choice for emergency vets.

SASH prides itself on its multidisciplinary approach to veterinary care, and this is no different for our Emergency & Critical Care department. At each of the SASH hospitals, you will have the opportunity to work alongside at least one residency trained critical care vet. In fact, SASH is home to the largest team of Criticalists in the country! Additionally, you will be supported by specialists from other departments including Internal Medicine, Surgery, and more.

Regardless of location, each SASH Emergency & Critical Care department was custom-built no earlier than 2017. With continued investments into facilities and equipment, you can be confident that you will always have access to everything you need to provide high quality care.

Hospital Care will teach you all you need to know about working in an emergency and referral hospital, while easing you into SASH processes and systems. The Hospital Care service sees lower acuity cases, with support from a large team of experienced SASH vets and specialists, all of whom can provide excellent learning opportunities.

Talent Acquisition - Jessica
Jessica O'Connor

Jessica joined SASH in 2019 after spending 2 years in external recruitment, as the first dedicated talent acquisition business partner. With the growth of the Talent team, Jessica transitioned to focus solely on recruiting for our Specialist and Emergency Vet teams. An avid animal lover and dressage rider, Jessica found her dream job at SASH mixing recruitment and her love for animals.

Now with 6 years of recruitment experience behind her, Jessica thoroughly enjoys speaking with people from all over the world. She has a deep understanding for what it means to move halfway around the world for a job and takes each individual process seriously. No 2 people’s lives are the same, so understanding what is important to each individual is at the heart of Jessica’s work. Her goal is to look for an opportunity in our team that best suits the life-style of each vet and help turn this into a reality.

Jessica provides support the entire way through the recruitment process right through to your first day in the team. Being experienced with Visa’s and Veterinary registration allows her to help you navigate through what would otherwise be challenging processes.

Outside of work Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, including her Husky Gilbert. You can usually find her outdoors enjoying the beautiful Aussie weather at the beach or exploring our national parks.

If you have questions about relocating to Australia or to see a particular opportunity listed on our careers page, please reach out to Jessica and she will be able to give you more insight!
