SASH North Ryde is proud to offer its new Puppy & Kitten Murmur Screening Clinic to veterinarians.
This first-of-its-kind service is a cost effective way for pets to access a cardiologist while allowing you to keep ownership of the case.
If you auscultate a heart murmur in a patient under 12 months of age, you will be able to refer them to see Dr Arianne Fabella, a board certified cardiologist. The service will include a physical examination plus echocardiogram without the need for a client consult. A report with findings and recommendations will be sent back to you for follow up with the client.
To be eligible for the Heart Murmur Screening service, the patient must meet the following criteria:
- Auscultated heart murmur
- Under 12 months of age
- Does not require sedation or anaesthesia for an echo
- Be otherwise healthy
- Able to attend SASH North Ryde Mondays 2:30 – 3:30pm
If the patient does not meet the above criteria, a regular consult will be required, outside of the Murmur Screening clinic.
