Our beloved sausage boy George has been with us for almost 7 years. He is the most precious, bubbly, loving little boy. After noticing multiple vomits and increased lethargy by George we noticed he seemed to be very withdrawn, barely walking and had these big beady, sad eyes. We knew something was wrong and were advised by friends to immediately take him to SASH in Adelaide as they were a 24/7 emergency centre.
After a short wait we were assessed by a beautiful, caring vet who recommended George be admitted as he had a very painful tummy and rapid heart rate and needed immediate medical attention. We almost lost our Georgie, he needed IV therapy and lots of medications and tests. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and presumed aspiration pneumonia with gastroenteritis. The staff were incredible, they let us visit when we wanted with lots of cuddles, they cried with us and were so supportive and loving to our George.
George miraculously made a recovery and was able to be discharged yesterday. He is recovering well at home, with lots of cuddles, sleep, easily digestible food and of course love by his parents and two little human sisters.
From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much for saving our George. My husband said next time he is unwell he would prefer to be admitted to SASH that a human hospital.
