SASH Is A Cat Friendly Clinic!

Learn more about the cat friendly clinic program

Cat Friendly Clinic is a worldwide program from the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), the veterinary division of International Cat Care.

At SASH, we recognise that because of their unique nature and needs, taking a cat to a veterinary clinic can be very stressful, both for the cat and also the owner.

The Cat Friendly Clinic program is designed to help address these issues by creating more cat friendly veterinary clinics and so reducing the stress for the cat, and making veterinary visits easier for cat owners as well.

In order to become an accredited Cat Friendly Clinic we have had to meet certain criteria. At SASH we have met additional criteria to become a Gold Level hospital. We have provided additional training to staff, adapted our handling techniques to suit cats better, split our waiting rooms into two specific areas (one for cats and one for dogs), provided a consult room for cats only and we also have a dedicated Feline Ward.
