This is my cat, Xiaomi. Diagnosed with lymphoma at 2.5 years old, we were told he might only survive 2–6 months. Now, a year and a half later, he’s still with us.
On August 19, 2024, we decided to start chemo at the last minute. The next day, we were due to travel overseas for ten days, and without treatment, we might have lost him. Dr. Veronika was about to leave work—but chose to wait for us. That one treatment changed Xiaomi’s fate.
He’s grown from 4.1 kg to 6.2 kg and has been incredibly brave. Going through chemotherapy also healed me, giving us the time we needed to say goodbye properly and teaching me to cherish and focus on the present moment.
Every day Xiaomi lives is a miracle. Thank you to Dr. Veronika and all the staff who cared for him—they are amazing.
