Little Polly Pocket is a tiny chihuahua full of zest for life. Some say she’s a “triple A battery”!
Unfortunately at only 6months old, she luxated her tiny patella, rendering her pretty lame. She was no longer able to do all of the puppy things that puppies need to be doing – Playing! Socialising! Exploring the big world around them!
We were devastated that this developing pup wasn’t living her best life. Our local vet suggested surgery, but being the tiny little 1.8 kg puppy she was, we were very hesitant for surgery. We love our local vet, but decided operating on this small of a pet and being so young, she needed a specialist.
We reached out to SASH Sunshine Coast who was incredibly helpful, kind and knowledgeable from the first phone call all the way through her recovery. They even organised a remote phone call with the specialist surgeon, Dr Warrick Bruce, who took his time explaining the problems in detail and how he could help. He is a true expert in every sense of the word and I can’t imagine a more compassionate, knowledgeable and thorough vet to trust our tiny girl with!
We chose SASH because of the expertise of Dr Warrick Bruce, but were blown away by the entire staff’s expertise and kindness . We had to travel for our pup’s procedure and they were incredibly helpful in organising from a long distance and making sure everything went smoothly.
It turned out that Polly’s tiny anatomy was more complex than originally thought, and Dr Bruce was able to navigate these complexities to ensure a successful surgery and smooth recovery. We are so glad we chose Dr Bruce and the team at SASH SC! Because of SASH Polly is back to her favourite games – chasing her favourite toy, sniffing all the sniffs, and exploring the big world!
