Max was referred to Dr Tristram Bennett (Surgical Specialist/ Surgical Oncology Fellow) in November 2024 for a persistent limp on his right front foreleg. CT and MRI scans were taken and he was diagnosed with a tumour on C3 and a slow growing malignant tumour in his stomach growing into his oesophagus.

It was decided to debulk the tumour in his stomach and remove his spleen. As Max was 14 years old at the time, it was decided that it was too risky to operate on the tumour on C3.

This was the beginning of a long relationship with SASH North Ryde and Dr Tristram Bennett who has taken such great care in looking after Max over the past 14 months.

During this time Max has also seen Dr Sophia Tzannes (Internal Medicine), Dr Patrick Kenny (Neurology ), Dr Barry Cherno (Rehab) and Dr Sophie Tyler (Dermatology).

Max is now over 15 years old and due to the wonderful care he has received from everyone at SASH he is still going strong.
