My sweet Greyhound Will developed severe Haemorrhagic Gastritis. His health rapidly declined over the course of the evening and by the time I rushed him to SASH Prospect he was almost dead.
The wonderful Emergency team sprang into action and fluid resuscitated him and got him stable enough for transfer to SASH North Ryde where he could have supervision from a specialist Critical care vet seven days a week.
He was touch and go for the first four days with septic shock and then ongoing sepsis and developing pancreatitis and liver dysfunction. Every team member at both hospitals was lovely and supportive and kept me up-to-date with what was happening.
They were all lovely to Will and kept telling me what a lovely and compliant boy he was. I’m so appreciative to everyone for saving Will‘s life. He is now happy and healthy and just regaining his weight and physical fitness.
