This year has been full of unknowns for my dog, George. He first became unwell and was diagnosed with pancreatitis. After that, he developed a condition called fly-biting disorder, which can be either gastrointestinal or behavioural — something the neurologist at SASH identified.
George continued to get sick, and despite my local vet doing everything they could, we still didn’t have answers. I took George to SASH Central Coast, where he required surgery, and afterwards we were referred to the Internal Medicine team at SASH. It was eventually discovered that he has inflammatory bowel disease.
The vets, nurses and staff at SASH have all been fantastic. George still has some ongoing issues as we work through the trial-and-error process with his diet, but the support we’ve received has been incredible. I’ve phoned SASH several times, and they have helped me without needing me to come in — which I truly appreciate, as I live three and a half hours away.
The care, dedication and support they’ve shown both George and myself has been outstanding. I’m very grateful for everything they’ve done.
