Halle’s story was dramatic, she literally collapsed early one morning with a heart rupture.

My husband rushed her down the road to SASH Northern Beaches where the team resuscitated her – something we subsequently learnt is not often successful.
Obviously this was a very good outcome but it did set in train a long recovery that required a trip, in an oxygen tent with a vet, to SASH North Ryde’s Intensive Care unit for a few days. Plus treatment from SASH’s cardiology team.

Halle’s prognosis was challenging – she survived the rupture and the resuscitation but the only thing keeping her alive was expert care and a clot forming to ‘hold’ her heart tear together.
The care offered to Halle and the support to my family during a very emotional and stressful time was exceptional.

We have had a few repeat visits to both North Ryde and Northern Beaches and every visit has been the same standard of care and support.
We now have a dog with a complex heart condition but she’s back to living her best life with us and that’s all we can ask for. The teams across both locations are outstanding.
