Echo was diagnosed with chylothorax immediately after arriving at SASH. She was swiftly taken care of and we were treated with the height of respect and care.

After a week’s worth of support, contrast CT scan, echocardiogram and 6 to 8 hourly draining of her chest at home. She then returned for open chest surgery with Dr James King.

Her surgery went according to text book and thankfully so did her recovery! With 4 to 6 hourly draining at home and close monitoring with SASH, a week later her chest drains were removed and she has been on the mend ever since. Such a scary rare condition that of course only a vet nurses dog would get!

She has been doing amazingly and I am forever grateful for Dr James King and the entire team at SASH Gold Coast for helping my girl through the toughest time of her life and supporting me through it all. I appreciate the way that everything was explained to me through every step of the way and because of that I was able to make informed decisions with ease.

Thank you SASH! 🫶
