6 Months ago, our beautiful 2 year old male Golden Retriever Rufus was admitted into North Ryde SASH following complications after a desexing. The afternoon he came home he was extremely lethargic, very swollen and red in his lower region. By morning, we could see he was deteriorating and it got to the point that he lost consciousness. We rushed him back to the vet and then asked that he be transferred into the care of SASH to get treatment.
The entire staff were absolutely incredible.. we received two calls a day from his wonderful nurses and they were so patient and considerate with my multiple calls in between checking that he was still okay. They even encouraged us to visit as much as we like to take him on small walks around the perimeter as they could see how distressed we were. What we originally thought was going to require a further corrective surgery, did not need to come to fruition because of the amazing care that they had given him.
All of the medicine, blood tests & golden cuddles has resulted in him being able to come home after almost a week to rest comfortably with his family. Our follow up appointment a few weeks later showed that the blood clot had rectified and thankfully the only long term affect was purely cosmetic from the original surgery and no need for concern.
We can’t thank SASH enough, I have recommended every single pet owner I know to take their animals there if ever required. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for saving my fur babies life!
