My Frankie is a golden retriever currently 6 months old and absolutely crazy, with the best personality and is biggest lunatic you’ve ever seen. But a few months ago when he was a bit littler he became unwell very quickly one night with vomiting and diarrhoea and extremely lethargic. As a first time pet Mum I was extremely concerned and when he didn’t make any improvement over a few hours I made the choice to rush him to into SASH 24/7 Emergency @ 2am. They attended to us immediately tested him and advised me he came back positive for parvo.
I never knew how bad or what parvo actually was until I experienced it with my own puppy. The vets and nurses acted immediately gave me all the information and support I needed for my Frankie. He ended up being admitted that night kept on hydration and given antibiotics and he made the such a fast recovery where I was able to pick him up the next day in the afternoon at 5pm.
If SASH weren’t around and didn’t act the way they did, I don’t know what could’ve happened to him. I’m extremely grateful for the team. They support and guidance they gave me throughout the process was unmatched. I was a bit of a frantic dog Mum as you could imagine where every time I called the team were happy to give me updates. The vets were happy to speak to me whenever I needed, explain in deeper context and overall provide me the support I needed.
I’m not sure if my Frankie would’ve been with us today if I didn’t act quickly and rely on the team at SASH Adelaide. I’m extremely grateful for everyone there and I couldn’t recommend them more, especially for emergency cases where you are unsure. They are the best & safety place to be for your pets.
