Diesel has been treated by Dr David Davis for just over three years for his very rare form of hepatitis.

When we first took him to SASH we were awaiting our first appointment when he went jaundice. We were scared to leave him not knowing what was happening, we were told all tests were inconclusive by our referring vet. Our appointment was brought forward and this is when we were informed of what he had (granulomatous hepatitis).

With its rarity and that it is unknown what caused it, we started him on his first medication. We had results! Varying his dosage over time he has been managing well and even had Dr Andrew Dunn do his keyhole liver biopsy as well as his cruciate ligament surgery.

Recently Diesel’s blood results have not been as stable as we would like and he has now started on another medication, which so far has been giving us the desired results.

There have been ups and downs over the time but can say for certain without the SASH Adelaide team, Diesel wouldn’t still be with us. So thank you to everyone!
Attached is Diesel with his sister Peppa while at SASH for his latest follow up.
