Kenny (smooth haired Dachshund,6 month old) came into SASH Adelaide earlier in February 2025 for extensive surgeries after being hit by a car followed by being stepped on by a horse at a later date.

Unfortunately for Kenny, he suffered immensely following a fracture to his vertabrae, femur, pelvis and elbow. On both seperate occasions, I have taken him into SASH in Adelaide, where by the end everyone knew Kenny, and we were treated so well every time.

I am beyond grateful for all the specialist crew and surgeons who were able to perform absolute miracles and will forever be so grateful for everything they did for my boy. Not only the specialist team, but the hardworking nurses and vets on board who kept me updated with photos of my beautiful boy and continuous updates of his condition whilst in care. This is something that I absolutely loved and was definitely the cherry on top.

After many months of rehab and sleepless nights, Kenny to this day is the most active boy, running around, digging holes (his specialty) and playing with my other dachshund at home. Everyone who knows Kenny understands the miracles SASH did for him.

Words can’t describe how thankful I will always be for the whole crew at SASH for saving and giving my beautiful boy a second chance at life.
This is Kenny’s story.
