Dr Theresa was born and raised in South Africa, where her love for animals and the natural world was sparked during weekends spent in the Kruger National Park. After relocating to Australia, she earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Hons) from The University of Queensland, followed by a rotating internship at a busy Queensland veterinary specialists and emergency hospital. Since then, she has worked exclusively in emergency department and completed a Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care through the University of Melbourne. Dr Theresa is committed to further developing her skills in critical care.
Her special interests include animal reproduction, neonate critical care, polytrauma, and wildlife medicine.
When she’s not at work, you’ll find Dr Theresa enjoying the outdoors, at the beach, hiking, or running around with her energetic pack: Reggie the Jack Russell, Nala the Bull Arab cross, Beanie the Chihuahua x Gremlin, and Tofu the Chihuahua x Pomeranian.
