Dr Ricky Tang completed his Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2025. During his final year, he undertook diverse clinical placements across Australia, Hong Kong and the United States, gaining valuable insight into different models of veterinary care. His experience included time in general practice on the Central Coast, a dedicated dermatology placement with Vet Derm Clinic.
Most notably, Dr Ricky spent the summer of 2025 at Cornell University as part of the Veterinary Investigator and Leadership Program, where he explored antiviral resistance and treatment failure in feline infectious peritonitis. His professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine and infectious diseases, with a particular focus on zoonotic conditions that impact both pets and their families.
Outside the hospital, Dr Ricky enjoys discovering new places through the lens of his film camera and staying active with regular runs. Music is an important part of his downtime and a way to recharge after busy clinical days. He also shares a special bond with his black and tan Shiba Inu, Piggy, who lives with his family in Hong Kong.
