Dr Nicole is an Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarian who completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Chile before moving to Australia and successfully passing the Australian Veterinary Examination. Since, she has undertaken additional training through an emergency medicine programme and has gained wide ranging experience in internal medicine, emergencies and surgery.
Earlier in her career, Dr Nicole was part of a surgical team in Chile delivering extensive desexing programmes, and she has completed placements with Currumbin Wildlife Hospital as well as a brief internship at the University of Sydney. Alongside her clinical work, she volunteers with Vets Beyond Borders.
Outside of work, Dr Nicole feels most at home in nature, whether she is surfing, swimming, going to the beach, travelling, exploring waterfalls, dancing or playing the drums. Before relocating, she ran a shelter in Chile that cared for up to thirty five dogs at a time. Although she does not currently share her home with an animal, she is very much looking forward to welcoming a new four legged family member in the future.
