Dr Lucy Fuchter graduated from The University of Sydney at the end of 2020 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Following university, Dr Lucy moved to Brisbane to undertake a rotating internship at a Queensland-based referral hospital. In 2022, she returned to Sydney to complete a second rotating internship at SASH North Ryde.
Throughout the year, her passion for Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) continued to grow, leading her to successfully apply for a competitive residency position which commenced at the start of 2023. As of end of 2025, Dr Lucy has completed her specialist training and is now a Registrar in Critical Care.
Dr Lucy’s clinical interests include cardiorespiratory and haematological disorders, as well as the management of critical post-operative patients. She also maintains a keen interest in veterinary research, having previously published and presented several papers. Her current research focuses include tick paralysis, anaphylaxis, and antibiograms.
Outside of work, Lucy enjoys staying active, exploring the great outdoors, and discovering Sydney’s vibrant café and restaurant scene. While she shares her time with family pets, she is looking forward to welcoming a cat of her own in the coming year.
