Dr Lucy Fuchter

BVetBiol DVM

Resident in Emergency & Critical Care

(What does this mean?)

Dr Lucy Fuchter graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The University of Sydney at the end of 2020. Following university, Lucy moved to Brisbane to undertake a Rotating Internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists and Pet Emergency. In 2022, she moved back to Sydney, and completed a second Rotating Internship at SASH North Ryde. Through the year, her passion for Emergency and Critical Care continued to grow, and she successfully applied for a Residency position commencing at the start of 2023.

Lucy’s clinical interests include cardiorespiratory and haematological disorders, as well as management of the critical post-operative patients. She also has a keen interest in veterinary research, having previously published and presented papers. Her current research focuses are tick paralysis, anaphylaxis and antibiograms.

Outside of work, Lucy likes to keep active, spend time in the great outdoors, explore Sydney’s café /restaurant scene and travel. Lucy has family pets, but is hoping to acquire a cat of her own in the coming year.
