Resident in Critical Care & Specialist in Internal Medicine

(What does this mean?)

Following graduation Jo worked in general practice in Sydney before undertaking a rotating internship at the University of Sydney. Following this she stayed on at the university as an anaesthesia registrar allowing her to hone her skills and knowledge in critical care medicine. During this time Jo completed a Masters in Veterinary Studies and became a member of the Small Animal Medicine and Emergency & Critical Care Chapters of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. After completion of a residency in small animal medicine and becoming a registered specialist, she was appointed as a lecturer in this subject.

Jo is interested in all areas of internal medicine, particularly infectious disease, immunology, haematology and critical illness and has completing a PhD investigating feline breed susceptibility to infection with environmental fungi.

To broaden her skills, Jo is now undergoing her residency in Emergency and Critical Care.
