Dr Inaki (pronounced in-ya-ki) Prado Checa graduated from the University of León (Spain) in 2013. Following a rotating internship at his home university, he moved to the UK, where he worked for a couple of years as a general practice vet, doing primarily emergency work.
Following a rotating internship at Cambridge University and a cardiorespiratory specialty internship at Edinburgh University, he underwent a veterinary cardiology residency training programme between the Royal Veterinary College in London and Langford Vets (Bristol University), after which he obtained his Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Inaki enjoys all aspects of veterinary cardiology, although he has a keen interest in echocardiography, arrhythmias and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (also known as Boxer cardiomyopathy).
Outside of work, Inaki enjoys doing sports, travelling and salsa and bachata dancing!
