Specialist in Emergency & Critical Care
Dr Erin Mooney graduated from the University of Sydney in 2007 with Honours. She then undertook an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at a specialist hospital in Connecticut, USA. Erin then travelled to Tufts University in Massachusetts, a world-leading centre for emergency & critical care, to complete her residency in the same field. Erin became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2012.
Erin returned to Australia to practice as an Emergency & Critical Care Specialist and lecturer at the University of Melbourne before moving to Sydney to work at SASH, and to become the first Emergency & Critical Care Specialist in NSW. After some years at SASH, Erin pursued her academic interests at the University of Sydney, before returning to SASH in 2023 to join, what is now, the country’s largest network of Critical Care Specialists. Erin has a keen interest in trauma, pulmonary disease, mechanical ventilation, peri-operative care, and transfusion medicine.
