Dr Elias Gumpel is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina but grew up in Texas. After graduating from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, he worked as a small animal general practitioner for 4 years before deciding to pursue specialisation in radiation oncology.
Elias completed a one year internship followed by a two year residency in veterinary radiation oncology at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas in 2011. Part of his residency training included mentoring with medical and radiation oncology specialists in both Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona, along with radiation physics training with Dr Wendell Lutz, a world renowned medical radiation physicist.
Over the last 9 years, Elias has been working in a specialist hospital based in Brisbane, and has recently made the transition to SASH in Sydney.
Elias is recognised as a board certified Specialist Radiation Oncologist by the American College of Veterinary Radiology. He is passionate about utilising the latest in radiotherapy technology, 3D treatment planning, and treatment protocols to get the best possible outcomes for his patients.
