Registrar in Dermatology
With a childhood spent pretending to place intravenous cannulas into her toy animals, it was clear that being a veterinarian was Dr Courtney’s future, and she fulfilled her dream when she moved to Perth to study veterinary science. Courtney graduated from Murdoch University in 2016, before working in a busy general practice back home in Darwin for two and half years. Whilst at university, she discovered a keen interest in dermatology, and working in Darwin really cemented this passion; the tropical Top End being full of unusual skin conditions. So after spending time with some of the veterinary dermatologists around Australia, Courtney moved to Sydney to pursue dermatology at SASH. She first completed a 12 month dermatology-focused rotating internship in 2019, and then a 12 month dermatology internship, before completing her Membership examinations in Feline Medicine for the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and her residency.
Courtney has a keen interest in ear disease, the diagnosis and individualised management of allergic skin disease, and weird and wonderful skin conditions.
When not at work, Courtney enjoys exploring the New South Wales coast, horse-riding, and watching true crime documentaries with a glass of wine and her little naughty tortie – Dora.
