Ragnar was one very sick cat with anaemia and was going downhill fast so our local vet referred us to SASH for an urgent blood transfusion and much needed specialist care, which I didn’t even know was an option for pets. Being only 2 years old, we raced to SASH that night and Ragnar was given the life saving transfusion.
He then underwent many tests and was found to have an immune mediated disease and started steroids to suppress his immune system and the disease process. With thanks to the specialist care at SASH with the transfusion and diagnosis, Ragnar continues to live on today (yay he’s 4 1/2 now!) He takes steroids daily and is monitored every 6-8weeks by our local vet. His fur is poor but he’s pain free, happy and loving his best life. Since then his little sister Boo has become a cat blood donor and given one donation so far. SASH saved my boy. I am and will always be grateful for the extra time we’ve been given with our sweet boy Ragnar.
