Do I need to make a booking or appointment?
No, you do not need to make an appointment for emergency care at SASH Sunshine Coast. You can bring your pet in for urgent treatment at any time, without a referral or prior booking. For specialist appointments, an appointment is needed.
How much does emergency treatment cost?
Emergency treatment costs at SASH can vary depending on your pet, their condition and the care required. A detailed estimate will be provided during the consultation with an Emergency Veterinarian. You will be informed and involved in the decision-making process with every stage of your pet’s diagnostic and treatment journey.
Do you accept pet insurance or offer payment plans?
Yes, SASH Sunshine Coast accepts most pet insurance providers, and offers GAP Only for participating providers. We also offer third party payment options to help manage the cost of veterinary care.
What if my pet needs to be seen by a vet but I have no money?
SASH offers a number of payment options, including Afterpay, VetPay, Zip Pay, and Zip Money to help manage costs. If you have pet insurance, SASH offers GapOnly payments for participating providers. Wherever possible, our team will discuss treatment options based on your financial situation so you can make informed decisions about your pet’s care.

What to do if my dog gets a cane toad?
Cane toads can cause severe toxic reactions in dogs, so it’s important to seek emergency veterinary care immediately. If your dog gets a cane toad, rinse their mouth out with water (if safe to do so), keep them calm, and take them to an emergency vet.
What to do if my dog is bitten by a snake?
In the event of a snake bite, keep your dog as calm and still as possible to slow the spread of the venom and do not try to catch the snake. Snake bites are a life threatening emergency so take your dog to an emergency vet immediately.
