Story from Karen : Maggie

We took our two and a half year old Irish Wolfhound, Maggie to our local vet to be spayed. Unfortunately, when she was being anaesthetised her heart went into atrial fibrillation. We were sent to SASH in North Ryde to consult with the amazing cardiologist, Dr Inaki Checa. After extensive testing a treatment plan was formed and Maggie’s heart was successfully ‘jump-started’ back into the correct rhythm. Maggie then saw the wonderful surgical team to organise a laparoscopic spay and gastropexy, with Dr Checa on standby in case her heart went wonky again!

Throughout the whole stressful experience, every member of SASH was so amazing and supportive, and communicated with us every step of the way.

Our beautiful Maggie is happy and healthy and up to her usual mischief like stealing food off the kitchen bench and romping on the beach.
