I noticed that Jesse had been drinking a bit more water than usual. Not an excessive amount, but more than what was typical. I first took him in to my usual vet, where he had bloods done that revealed elevated kidney levels. After being hospitalised there he underwent several tests, where finally it was determined he had kidney disease. Unfortunately, his levels kept getting higher so it was recommended I take him to SASH, where he could be looked after by specialists.

Things had not been looking great for Jesse at my previous vet, so I did not have high hopes when I brought him in. The incredible team at SASH were so efficient in diagnosing what was wrong and what needed to be done. Jesse underwent a two hour surgery to place a sub connecting his kidney and bladder, and after just two days he was already back to his usual self.

The staff at SASH were so wonderful, giving me daily updates and letting me know how much of a brave boy Jesse had been. It really warmed my heart to hear all about how everyone loved him, and all the pats and cuddles he had received.

I will always be thankful to SASH for saving my beautiful boy. I can’t imagine my life without him, and the staff did everything they could to ensure he has the best quality of life.
