Dr Rita Singh graduated from Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia in 1995. She worked in general practice in Buckinghamshire, England for 2 years before returning to Australia to complete a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Sydney. She then completed a 3 year residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Veterinary Specialist Centre in Sydney and successfully passed her specialist exams in Small Internal Animal Medicine in 2006.
During her time as a resident, she came to realise that cardiology was her true passion and went onto to complete a Veterinary Cardiology Residency at the University of California, Davis. Rita successfully passed her board exams and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 2011.
Rita loves all aspects of cardiology especially echocardiography and interventional procedures for congenital disease, ECGs and pacemaker placement. She also has a passion for Boxer dogs and Jack Russell Terriers.
